“Does the Samaritan’s Dilemma Matter? Evidence from U.S. Agriculture,” with Tatyana Deryugina, is NBER working paper W22845. It’s my first NBER working paper.* This should broaden its exposure a bit. I think it’s a good paper that makes an important contribution. Now, hopefully, more people will read it and agree.
*This fact won’t impress a lot of my colleagues who say that the NBER is just a club. Guess what guys*, your anti-NBER club is a club too.
*It’s generally safe to refer to my colleagues as “guys” because, although I don’t have the data, I’m pretty sure agricultural economics is even less diverse than general econ (see Bayer and Rouse (2016) for more on this).
